After creating a second account on my laptop set to be non-administrative, how can I have "my documents" files accessible from both the Admin account as well as the other, as that seems not to be the case right now. Also, the calculator is not under Start->All Programs->Accessories, while definitely being there for the Admin account, and also on the quick-launch Taskbar for the Admin account.

Hi Andrea
1st of all kudos on trying to use the Limited User Account.
You can share files between the non admin account and the admin account through the 'Shared Documents' folder. You can get to this folder by Double clicking 'My Computer'. It should be the folder icon on the top of your drives.
You can not have your entire admin account 'My Documents' be visible to anyone unless you move it's entire contents into the 'Shared Documents' folder.
You can create a shortcut of the 'Shared Documents' folder on your admin account's desktop by just right clicking it and select Send To -> Desktop (Create Shortcut)
When you create a new account in XP it does not follow the settings of your previously established account. You will have to create your own quick launch bar which is pretty simple to do, right click anywhere on your taskbar and select Toolbars -> Quick Launch.
It puzzles me why you can not see your calculator icon in All Programs -> Accessories. The only time that this has happened to me is when there was some corruption in my admin account.
Good news though we can bypass this by creating a shortcut on the non admin account's desktop.
Right click anywhere on your non-admin account desktop Select New -> Shortcut A dialogue box will appear Under 'Type the Location of the item' box type this in %systemroot%\system32\calc.exe Click Next Under 'Type a name for this shortcut', type in any name you want for your calculator shortcut Click Finish And you're done!
Let me know if this works out for you ok.
Cheers Faizul

I was wrong about the icon showing in the admin account under Start->All Programs... I did though solve the problem slightly differently. Initially I searched files for "calculator", but then looked at the Properties of the calculator icong on the admin Quick-launch to find the program's location (C:\WINDOWS\system32\calc.exe). Does the absence of the icon in Start->All Programs... still signify corruption in the admin. account?
