in an e-mail from your Chinese teacher? I am in the EASA Chinese for Adults class at SAS, and got and e-mail beck from the teacher, with Chinese characters and the corresponding hanyu pinyin, but this is what it looked like:
ллÄãÊ·°²ÑÅ£¡ xiexie ni shi anya
³ÂÀÏʦ chen laoshi
The answer to my question to the teacher as to how to display the characters had some good hints, but I am now wondering whether the school has a program installed that creates the characters:
"You can try to decode from the view incon. If still can not open it. I hear that is a nj star.com you can download the program"
njstar.com seems to only have Chinese and other Word Processor programs, but no fonts.

Hi Andreas,
Microsoft Windows XP has a 'plug in' that will work if you need to see the chinese characters. It is a bit complicated to explain so I will have to prepare screenshots for you to follow, I'll post something later tonight when I can.
If you buy NJStar you will get special chinese fonts that you can use however the teacher needs to use only the default chinese font/characters that Microsoft offers in order for the parent to read the email properly if chinese characters are being used in the main context of the email.
regards Faizul
