Hi Faizul and Gang,
I just bought an all in one Lexmark printer x5470. It works great until I shut my computer down. Then my Dell Gx270 won't restart. All it does it have a black screen with a blinking cursor. As soon as I unplug the USB cable to the new printer, the computer starts up with no problem.
I have tried uninstalling the software and then reinstalling it. Using a different USB cable. Plugging the cable into a different USB port. Downloading the latest driver from Lexmark. But none of the above did any good.
I searched on the internet and other people have had the same problem. Some tech guys recommended updating my BIOS. I have no idea what that is or how to do it. Can you help?
Thanks way more than tons, Dan

Sounds like you've done everything that you can, can you give me the model of the printer? Is it a three in one? or just a plain old color printer? The Dell BIOS update that you are looking for here, Note: Updating the BIOS is the LAST thing you want to do in troubleshooting any issues. support.ap.dell.com/support/downloads/download.aspx?c=sg&l=en&s=gen&releaseid=R128823&SystemID=PLX_PNT_CEL_GX270&os=WW1&osl=en&deviceid=162&devlib=0&typecnt=1&vercnt=4&formatcnt=1&libid=1&fileid=171479It is pretty simple to run a BIOS update just download the program and double click it, it will do the rest if you follow the instructions CAREFULLY! Here's some basic instructions; NOTE: CLOSE ALL RUNNING APPLICATIONS BEFORE YOU RUN THE BIOS UPDATE!Run the BIOS update utility from Windows environment 1. Double click the Icon on your desktop labeled GX270A07.EXE. 2. The Dell BIOS Flash window appears 3. Click the Continue button. 4. The message Pressing OK will close all applications, shut down Windows, Flash the BIOS, then reboot. appears. Choose Flash the BIOS if you can. 5. Click the OK button. 6. The system will restart and the BIOS Flash will be completed. It is imperative that you have a constant power supply running to your computer and not disconnect the power at ANY time during the BIOS update process. Cheers Faizul
