I looked into SyncToy and getting a USB external HD, so as to get a better handle on backing up my data on a regular basis.
Now, backing up MyDocuments, MyPictures and other such Folders makes sense to me. I assume doing the whole set-up from the Admin account rather than the LUA would be the thing to do.
What would be a good list of things to back-up other than the obvious ones above. I mean also folders that comprise settings, Shared documents, all Users' folders, the Outlook folder?

Hi Andrea, Wow you have been busy! The things that I usually backup when I go onsite is the 1. Favorites folder -> C:\Documents and Settings\%Username%\Favorites 2. The shared folders if they have a shared network or if they share files between accounts on the same computer. 3. Outlook Express or Outlook Client Files like archives that they might keep. This hidden folder can be found after you have enable 'Show Hidden Files and Folders ' under the Folder Options. This is where you can get the Outlook Client files C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\ (look for a files with .OST or .PST file format. This is where you can find your outlook express mailbox store Lauch Outlook express and look for Tools>Options>Maintenance>Store Folder You will find the directory that Outlook express Keeps your mailbox files. I would personally do an individually backup of the application wise and not copy the files over for a backup. Thats usually all the stuff I backup provided the user does not save anything on the desktop as well as that would be a different directory to backup. This directory can be found in C:\Documents and Settings\%Username%\Desktop have fun Faizul
